The Woodpecker TFRK (Terauchi File Removal Kit) is a complete endodontic retrieval system developed in collaboration with world-renowned endodontist Dr. Yoshi Terauchi. Designed for clinical precision and reliability, this kit contains all the essential rotary drills, micro-explore instruments, ultrasonic tips, and loop snaring devices needed to expose, bypass, loosen, and retrieve broken file fragments from within root canals.

Made from high-grade martensitic NiTi and surgical stainless steel, all instruments are robust, flexible, and fully autoclavable. Compatible with standard Woodpecker/EMS ultrasonic scaler handpieces, the kit is organized inside a compact autoclavable cassette organizer for simplified clinical workflows and sterile storage.

Direction to use

  • Coronal Prep: Use the MGG #3 and K-Endo rotary files to enlarge the canal pathway coronal to the separated file fragment.
  • Troughing: Mount the TFRK-MT trephine bur on a low-speed handpiece and drill around the top of the file to create a 0.5mm deep trough.
  • Ledge Bypassing: Utilize the 0.1mm fine tip of the TFRK-ME explorer to locate bypass paths around the ledge.
  • Ultrasonic Activation: Attach the E87, E88, or E89 tip to the scaler. Place the tip against the exposed fragment and activate on low power in counter-clockwise motions to loosen it.
  • Retrieval (Loop Snaring): For fragments longer than 4.5mm, thread the 0.08mm or 0.12mm loop wire through the TFRK-L microtube, capture the file head, pull the wire tight, and pull it out.
  • Sterilization: Pre-clean and autoclave the cassette holding all instruments at 134°C prior to clinical use.
