MotoPex is a model of the cordless Endo Motor designed specifically for endodontic treatments. It offers a comprehensive set of features and capabilities to assist dental professionals in root canal preparation, enlargement, and accurate measurement of canal length. One of the standout features of MotoPex is its efficient brushless motor, which operates quietly and boasts a long service life. This ensures smooth and reliable performance during procedures, enhancing the overall experience for both the dentist and the patient. Additionally, the cordless design of MotoPex adds to its convenience and portability, allowing for greater flexibility in treatment settings.
The MotoPex model includes a 360-degree rotation contra angle, which enables precise access to root canals from all angles. This versatility is crucial in achieving optimal results in complex endodontic cases. The MotoPex package comprises essential components such as the charging base, motor handpiece, contra-angle, measuring wire, lip hook, file clip, power adapter, and protective silicon cover. These components ensure the smooth functioning and protection of the device, contributing to its durability and reliability.
MotoPex is classified as Class II equipment with an internal power supply, offering protection against electric shock. It offers a wide range of torque and speed settings, enabling dentists to tailor their approach based on specific treatment requirements. Operating within the specified environmental parameters, including temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, guarantees optimal performance.

Mode

EAL Mode: This mode is used for canal measurement. The motor handpiece does not rotate in this mode.
CW Mode: In this mode, the motor handpiece rotates forward 360° in a clockwise direction.
CCW Mode: This mode is used for the counterclockwise rotation of the motor handpiece. It is typically used to inject calcium hydroxide and other mendicants.
REC Mode: This mode is for reciprocating motion. The forward and reverse angles can be adjusted between 20° and 340°. It is used with reciprocating files like DENTSPLY WAVEONE or WOODPECKER W3-ONE.
ATR Mode: ATR stands for Adaptive Torque Reverse function. In this mode,  the motor handpiece rotates continuously forward with a set angle between 120° and 340°. When the file load exceeds the set torque limit, the file will rotate alternately at the set angle. It is used with various torque and speed settings.

Features

  • Efficient brushless motor, low noise, long service life.
  • Cordless portable endo motor with combined length determination.
  • 360 degrees rotation of contra-angle.
  • Real-time feedback technology and dynamic torque control to prevent file separation.

Direction to use

Select the appropriate mode: Depending on the specific task you need to perform, choose the mode that best suits your requirements. Refer to the previous response for an overview of the different modes available.
Prepare the handpiece: Attach the appropriate endodontic handpiece to the motor. Ensure it is securely connected and properly aligned.
Set the speed and torque: Adjust the speed and torque settings according to the specific procedure and file system being used. These settings may vary based on the manufacturer's recommendations and the requirements of the case.
Perform canal measurement: If you need to measure the canal, select the EAL (Electronic Apex Locator) mode. The handpiece will not rotate in this mode. Follow the instructions for using the apex locator integrated into the endo motor or use a separate apex locator if required.
Rotary instrumentation: For rotary instrumentation using files like Waldent Wal-flex Gold Rotary Files -Refills or WOODPECKER W3-Pro, select the CW (clockwise) mode. Ensure the file is properly inserted into the canal and gently advance it while the handpiece rotates in a clockwise direction. Follow the recommended speed and torque settings for the specific file system.
Medicament placement: If you need to place medicaments like calcium hydroxide into the canal, select the CCW (counterclockwise) mode. The handpiece will rotate in a counterclockwise direction. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer or your endodontic protocol for accurate placement.
Reciprocating motion: For reciprocating motion using files like DENTSPLY WAVEONE or WOODPECKER W3-ONE, select the REC mode.
Adaptive Torque Reverse (ATR) function: If you want continuous forward rotation with alternating torque reversal, select the ATR mode. Adjust the angle and torque settings based on your requirements and the file system being used.

Product Related Questions

Question: Is training required to use the MotoPex endo motor?
Answer:
While the basic operation of the MotoPex endo motor can be intuitive, it is beneficial to undergo training or seek guidance from a qualified dental professional experienced in using the device. Training can help ensure proper technique, enhance safety, and maximize the benefits of the endo motor.

Question: How do I clean and maintain an endo motor?
Answer:
Follow the instructions provided in the user manual for cleaning and maintaining your endo motor. Generally, it involves wiping the external surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and using a mild disinfectant. Avoid using harsh chemicals or immersing the motor in liquids unless specified in the manual.

Question: Does it autostops if apex is reached?
Answer:
Yes, the Woodpecker Motopex Brushless Endomotor features an "Apical Action" function that provides automatic responses when the file tip reaches the apex of the canal. This function includes three options: "Stop" where the motor halts rotation when the reference point is reached, "Reverse" which reverses the rotation upon reaching or passing the reference point, and "OFF" which disables the apical action function. You can adjust these settings using the "Adjusting" button for optimal control during endodontic procedures.
