U Ortho Lingual Brackets 018 are better in comparison to conventional brackets, as there are more number of patients who need orthodontic treatment fulfilling aesthetic demand. To overcome the aesthetic demands of patients, lingual brackets have been introduced in orthodontics as an ultimate solution.

STB (Scuzzo-Takemoto-Bracket):

  • Most advanced lingual brackets technology
  • Incredibly comfortable for patients
  • Minimal impact on tongue and speech
  • Utilises passive self - ligation design that dramatically reduces friction, and delivers lighter forces.

ADVANTAGES OF STB (Scuzzo-Takemoto-Bracket):

  • Flossing is easier as the archwire is farther from the lingual surface and incisal edge.
  • Mesio-distal width of the bracket is smaller , allowing inter-bracket distances
  • Rotations can be more easily accomplished as the archwire can be tied tightly to the bottom of bracket slots.
  • Torque control is improved

Features

  • Made from a high-quality alloy.
  • Designed to be user-friendly.
  • Mesh design that enhances adhesion to the tooth structure.
  • An improved ligation notch, allows for a more passive system.
  • The brackets for the anterior teeth have a single tie-wing design at the incisal edge, providing greater patient comfort. The gingivally offset pad allows for more flexibility in bracket placement along the incisal edge.
  • The brackets for the premolars (bicuspids) have wider tie-wings, offering improved rotational control and enhanced patient comfort. They also feature hooks for attaching elastics or other auxiliary appliances if needed.
  • The brackets for the first molars come in a tube design, providing greater patient comfort during treatment.

Direction to use

  • Preparation: Ensure that the teeth are clean and dry before placing the lingual brackets. Clean the tooth surface using a toothbrush and dental floss. Use a cheek retractor or other appropriate tools to keep the working area accessible.
  • Bracket selection: Choose the appropriate lingual brackets based on the tooth position and treatment plan. Different brackets may be used for anterior teeth, premolars, and molars.
  • Bonding procedure: Apply a suitable bonding agent or adhesive e.g.Waldent Nanobond, to the base of each bracket. Place the brackets carefully on the tooth surface, aligning them properly with the tooth anatomy. Press firmly to ensure good bonding and remove any excess adhesive.
  • Light curing: Use a curing light to cure the bonding agent, ensuring that it sets and securely attaches the brackets to the teeth.
  • Archwire placement: After the brackets are securely bonded, insert the appropriate archwire into the bracket slots. Start with a smaller diameter archwire and progress to larger ones as the treatment progresses.
  • Ligature or ligation: Depending on the system being used, secure the archwire to the brackets using either ligatures (small elastic or wire ties) or a ligation mechanism provided with the brackets. Follow the system-specific instructions for proper ligation technique.
  • Adjustment and follow-up: Regularly assess the progress of the treatment and make necessary adjustments during follow-up appointments. This may involve changing archwires, adjusting the ligation, or making other modifications as needed.

Product Related Questions

Question: How do STB lingual brackets compare to conventional brackets?
Answer:
STB lingual brackets are considered more advanced and offer several advantages over conventional brackets. They are designed to be incredibly comfortable for patients and have minimal impact on tongue movement and speech. Additionally, they utilize a passive self-ligation design that dramatically reduces friction and delivers lighter forces, improving treatment outcomes.

Question: How does STB lingual brackets improve flossing?
Answer:
STB lingual brackets have the archwire positioned farther from the lingual surface and incisal edge. This increased distance makes flossing easier for patients compared to conventional brackets.

Question: What is the benefit of the smaller mesio-distal width of STB brackets?
Answer:
The smaller mesio-distal width of STB brackets allows for greater inter-bracket distances. This provides more space for effective rotations and improved torque control during orthodontic treatment.

Question: Can the archwire be securely tied to the bottom of STB bracket slots?
Answer:
Yes, the design of STB brackets allows the archwire to be tied tightly to the bottom of the bracket slots. This feature facilitates more easily accomplished rotations and enhances treatment precision.

Question: How does STB lingual brackets improve torque control?
Answer:
The design and functionality of STB lingual brackets contribute to improved torque control during orthodontic treatment. This allows for more precise alignment and positioning of the teeth.
