Direction to use

  • Select the appropriate size: Dental wooden wedges come in different sizes to fit different spaces between teeth. Choose a wedge that fits snugly into the space without causing discomfort to the patient.
  • Prepare the tooth: If the tooth is being prepared for a filling, the decayed or damaged tooth structure is removed first. Then, the area is dried with air or a dental dam.
  • Insert the wedge: Holding the wedge with a pair of tweezers or a wedge holder, insert it into the space between the teeth, with the thin end pointing towards the gum line. Apply gentle pressure to insert the wedge completely.
  • Check the placement: Check that the wedge is positioned correctly and is not causing discomfort to the patient. The wedge should be stable and not move around.
  • Perform the procedure: The dental professional can then perform the necessary procedure, such as placing a filling, cleaning the teeth, or applying a dental sealant.
  • Remove the wedge: After the procedure is complete, remove the wedge carefully, using a wedge holder or tweezers. Gently twist the wedge to loosen it before pulling it out.
