Wave is the ideal versatile fluoride-releasing, flowable, radiopaque, light-cured composite. Wave is directly injected into the cavity preparation for maximizing adaptation to the preparation. The Wave shade range consists of 14 popular shades - enamel A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1, B2, B3, C2, C3, D3, incisal, gingival, bleach; and 0A2 dentin shade. Enamel shades can be guided by VITA classical shade guide. The gingival shade is ideal for restoring cervical lesions in elderly patients. For teeth lighter than B1, bleach shade is available.
A choice of 3 viscosities-Wave, Wave MV (Medium Viscosity), Wave HV (High Viscosity).Wave, Wave MV, and Wave HV contain specially treated nano-fillers to maximize polishability, wear-resistance, and strength. Ease of extrusion is improved with the addition of these specially treated nano-fillers.

Direction to use
Cavity Preparation:
- Clean and isolate the tooth.
- Prepare a conservative cavity with standard techniques, ensuring slightly rounded internal form.
- Margins should end in sound and supported enamel without bevels in stress-bearing locations.
- Pre-wedge for an adequate contact point.
Prophylaxis:
- Prophy all surfaces to be etched with an oil-free, non-fluoride paste or pumice and water slurry.
- Rinse thoroughly with water.
Shade Selection:
- Make shade selection on a just cleaned and moist tooth.
- Avoid using uncured paste for color matching due to potential color change upon curing.
Isolation:
- Use isolation techniques, with a rubber dam, preferred to prevent contamination.
Pulp Protection:
- For deep cavities, employ a calcium hydroxide liner and glass ionomer cement liner for pulp protection.
Acid Etching:
- Dry the surface with dry, oil-free air.
- Etch enamel for at least 20 seconds, or dentin and enamel using the "total-etch" technique for at least 20 seconds.
- Enamel subjected to fluoridation should be etched for 90 to 120 seconds.
Wash Thoroughly:
- Wash the etched surface thoroughly with water.
- Remove excess water, keeping surfaces moist.
Adhesive Application:
- Apply Stae dentin/enamel adhesive or bonding.
- Blow gently with dry, oil-free air for 2 seconds to evaporate the solvent, leaving the surface glossy.
Light Cure:
- Light cure for 20 seconds using a high-power LED curing light (460-480nm wavelength).
Composite Application:
- Directly inject Wave in increments of 2mm or less for various indications (e.g., Class V restorations, pit and fissure sealants).
- Ensure the dispensing tip is firmly attached to the syringe.
Caution:
- Take caution to avoid acid contact with oral tissues, eyes, and skin.
- Use matrix strips to protect adjacent tooth surfaces during etching.
- Familiarize with the etchant’s viscosity and rate of extrusion, especially on first usage or after prolonged storage.
