Prime Dental BioTemp Bioceramic Intra Canal Temporary Filling Material is a ready-to-use bioceramic paste specifically designed for intracanal dressing prior to root canal filling. Its biocompatible formulation provides excellent sealing properties, making it suitable for various endodontic applications, including cases involving perforations and both internal and external resorptions. The material promotes optimal healing by acting as a barrier against bacterial infiltration. BioTemp is easy to manipulate and can be directly applied into the canal, ensuring precise placement. Additionally, its radiopaque nature allows for clear visibility on radiographs, facilitating effective monitoring during follow-up treatments.
Indications:
- Pulp Necrosis: Effective in cases involving pulp necrosis
- Retreatments: Suitable for retreatment scenarios to manage persistent issues
- Perforations: Acts as a barrier in cases of perforations in the tooth structure
- Internal and External Resorptions: Addresses both internal and external resorption conditions
- Persistent Fistulas: Provides sealing in cases with ongoing fistulas
- Excessive Exudate: Helps manage excessive exudate during treatment
- Apexification: Assists in root apex formation in cases of pulp necrosis, facilitating healing and closure

Use of Applicator Tips
- Prevent Cross-Contamination: Use a disposable plastic cover on the syringe to avoid cross-contamination
- Check Material Flow: Ensure that the material flows freely from the syringe before applying it directly to the canal
- Positioning: Correctly position the syringe and applicator tip in the canal, pressing the plunger gently to avoid excessive extrusion
- Stop Flow: Before closing the syringe, retract the plunger to stop the flow of material
- Clean After Use: Wipe any excess material from the syringe tip and securely close the cap to prevent moisture from entering
- Disinfection: Clean and disinfect the syringe for future use; discard if contaminated with saliva or blood
B. Intracanal Application
- Preparation: Administer anesthesia, place a rubber dam for isolation, and perform biomechanical preparation of the canal. For internal resorption, use curettes to remove any affected tissue
- Drying the Canal: Dry the canal using absorbent paper points
- Dispensing Material: Remove the cap from the syringe and attach the applicator tip. Dispense the material from the syringe tip
- Insertion: Insert the syringe tip near the root apex
- Filling the Canal: Apply Prime BioTemp by gradually retracting the syringe to ensure complete filling of the canal
- Remove Excess Material: Remove any excess paste from the pulp chamber
- Sealing: Perform coronal sealing and place a temporary restoration according to the instructions for the materials used
- Radiographic Confirmation: Take a radiograph to confirm proper filling of the canal
Important: Prime BioTemp should not remain in the root canal for more than 21 days
C. Material Removal
- Preparation for Removal: Administer anesthesia and place a rubber dam for isolation
- Removal Process: Remove Prime BioTemp using Prime's Sodium Hypochlorite along with a K-file, employing a filing motion against the canal walls
- Irrigation: Irrigate with Prime's Dent Wash (17% EDTA solution), activating it with an ultrasonic tip if possible, alternating with Sodium Hypochlorite in three cycles of 10 seconds each
- Sealing After Removal: For intracanal dressing of teeth with pulp necrosis and retreatments, fill the canal with Prime Bioceramic Sealer, following its instructions for use
- Repair in Special Cases: In cases involving perforations or resorptions, apply Prime MTA Bioceramic Sealer, Prime MTA BioPutty, or another suitable repair material according to their respective instructions before obturation or dressing change
- Final Sealing: Seal the coronal opening securely after all procedures are complete
