Prevest Denpro CalAPex Root Canal Sealer Manual Mix (40041-2)

Prevest Denpro CalApex Root Canal Sealer (40041-2) is an advanced non-eugenol polymeric, radiopaque calcium hydroxide-based bioceramic root canal filling material. Engineered for precision, CalApex comes in a two-component system—base and activator—available in tubes or a convenient dual-barrel syringe. This formulation ensures optimal performance and ease of use in endodontic procedures. Its non-eugenol nature adds to patient comfort, while the radiopaque feature aids in clear radiographic visibility. CalApex's bioceramic composition contributes to its biocompatibility, making it a reliable choice for root canal obturation. With its dual-delivery options, CalApex stands as a versatile and efficient solution, meeting the evolving demands of modern endodontics.

Indications:

  • Permanent obturation after pulp extirpation and chemomechanical preparation.

Features

  • Radiopaque Composition: Ensures clear visibility in radiographs for precise diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
  • Effective in Infected Root Canals: Specifically formulated for use in infected root canals, providing an ideal solution for challenging endodontic cases.
  • Non-Shrinking Formulation: Features a non-shrinking formula, ensuring long-term stability and maintaining the integrity of the root canal seal.
  • Excellent Physical Properties: Exhibits outstanding physical properties, including strength, durability, and adaptability for reliable endodontic performance.

Description

Specification

Composition:

  • Base: N-Ethyl-o/p-TolueneSulphonamide, Calcium Oxide, Portland Cement, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Stearate, Hydrogenated resin, Fumed silica
  • Catalyst: Ethylene Glycol Salicylate, Butylene Glycol, Tri-calcium Phosphate, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Fumed Silica, Barium zirconate, Zinc Stearate, N-Ethyl 0/p Toluenesulphonamide, Coloring agent.

Storage Conditions:

  • This product should be used at room temperature. Contact with water should be strictly avoided. Inadequate storage conditions could shorten shelf life and product performance. We recommend to store at temperatures between 10°C (50°F) and 24°C (75°F) and keep syringe cap tightly closed.

Shelf Life:

  • 2-years from the date of manufacturing.

Packaging

  • 1 x 20g Cartridge (Base & Catalyst)

Direction to use

  • Dispensing the Material: Activate the plunger of the manual mix cartridge to dispense both Base and Catalyst paste in a 1:1 volume ratio onto a mixing pad.
  • Mixing Process: Using a spatula, thoroughly mix the pastes for 15-20 seconds or until achieving a creamy homogeneous consistency.
  • Selection of Filling Technique: For standard techniques with gutta-percha or silver root canal points, or in thermoplasticized filling, where most of the canal is obturated by endodontic point material.
  • Light Coating for Thermoplasticized Technique: In thermoplasticized techniques, apply a light coating of CalApex to the canal walls if most of the canal is filled with endodontic point material.
  • Master-Point Technique: For Master-Point Technique, select a gutta-percha point matching the size of the last instrument used for apical preparation.
  • Application to Canal Walls: Apply CalApex to the canal walls using an obturation point or a lentulo spiral. Avoid air bubble formation and overfilling by advancing the lentulo spiral slowly to the apex at low speeds.
  • Working Time: The working time is 15-20 minutes. Dip disinfected and dry points into CalApex and insert them into the canal with a slow pumping motion.
  • Versatile Use: CalApex is suitable for various root canal sealing techniques, including single-point, thermoplasticized, and all condensation methods.
  • Setting Time: The setting time of CalApex in the root canal depends on the availability of moisture.
