Preparation:
- Open the pack and remove a single SMMS apron.
- Ensure the apron is intact and free from any tears or defects.
Wearing the Apron:
- Hold the apron by the neck and waist straps.
- Place the neck strap around the patient's neck and adjust for a secure fit.
- Wrap the waist straps around the patient’s back and tie them securely to ensure the apron covers the chest, abdomen, and sides.
During the Procedure:
- The apron should remain comfortably in place, offering full coverage to protect the patient’s clothing from contamination.
- Ensure the apron stays dry and does not interfere with the dental or orthodontic procedure.
Removal:
After the procedure is complete, carefully untie the waist straps and remove the apron from the patient.
Dispose of the used apron in a proper waste bin immediately.

- Dispose of the apron in accordance with local health and safety regulations to maintain infection control standards.
