The Meril Mitsu #5-0 Absorbable Suture (PGN 2303) is a high-quality, synthetic, absorbable braided surgical suture. Made of Polyglactin 910—a copolymer composed of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide—this suture provides reliable mid-term wound support. The braided configuration is coated to ensure extremely smooth tissue passage with reduced friction, minimal capillarity, and decreased tissue drag, while maintaining excellent handling and knot security.

Equipped with a curved, non-traumatic needle, this violet suture is highly visible in the surgical field. It is suitable for a wide range of soft tissue approximation and ligation procedures, including ophthalmic, gastrointestinal, and general surgeries.

Features

  • Mid-Term Absorption: Predictable absorption profile via hydrolysis, providing strength when most needed.
  • High Tensile Strength: Robust braided structure ensures secure wound approximation.
  • Smooth Passage: Coated surface reduces tissue drag and trauma during placement.
  • Excellent Handling: Tightly braided configuration allows easy knot positioning and secure holding power.
  • Biocompatible: Polyglactin 910 copolymer (90% glycolide, 10% L-lactide) formulation minimizes inflammatory tissue response.
  • Optimal Visibility: Violet color enhances visibility against surgical fields.
