Kids-e-Dental Bands with tube attached Refill
Kids-e-Dental Bands with tube attached Refill
Kids-e-Dental Bands comes in universal band design with attached tube for connecting space maintainer wires to prevent pre mature loss of space.
Space Maintainer Wires which can be used along with these Bands :
- Straight Loops
- Curved Loops
- Distal Shoe
Band and Loop Space Maintainers -
Before the new molar erupts, band and loop spacers make it a point to leave ample space for it. This is done to preserve the teeth’s proper alignment, while making sure the new teeth will erupt in its proper position.
A stainless steel band is placed temporarily around a permanent molar, with a stainless steel wire that loops out to extend to the second primary molar, leaving a space between them for the second premolar eruption.
The band and loop space maintainer are only helpful in maintaining a single missing tooth space. It may not be recommended for two or more succeeding missing teeth as it will be needing anchorage.
Distal Shoe Space Maintainers -
Used to maintain the space of a primary second molar that has been lost before the eruption of the permanent first molar.
An unerupted permanent first molar drifts mesially within the alveolar bone if the primary second molar is lost prematurely. The result of the mesial drifts results in loss of arch length & possible impaction of the second premolar.
The distal shoe is usually retained with a band instead of a stainless steel crown so that it can be replaced by another type of space maintainer after the permanent first molar erupts. To be effective, the guide plane must extend into the alveolar process so that it contacts the permanent first molar approximately 1 mm below the mesial marginal ridge, at or before its emergence from the bone.

Direction to use
Direction to use
Banding : Band with tube is selected by trial fitting. A band pusher and band adapter is use to fit and adapt the band around the tooth.
Select & Adjust Space Component : A wire component is selected to act as the spacer, straight and curved loop for band and loop space maintainer and the distal shoe for distal shoe space maintainer cases.
Insert Space Component & Check Fit: Slide the wire in the tube of the band. Place the band on the tooth and check if the space maintainer is fitting properly with space component resting on the supporting tooth.
Crimping band tube and space component: Keep e-crimper at the centre of the tube and do partial crimping intraorally. Remove the space maintainer and do final crimping extraorally.
Cementation: Clean and dry the band. Isolate and dry the tooth. Mix luting cement and apply on the inner surface of the band. Seat the band on the tooth using band pusher or band adapter. Remove excess cement after cement sets.

Question: What are the advantages of using Kids-e-Dental Bands with Tube Attached Refills?
Answer: Advantages include single-appointment usage, no need for impressions or model pouring, precise fit with no laboratory errors, reduced inventory due to universal band design, cost-effectiveness, and suitability for sedation cases.
Question: Why is a band used with the Distal Shoe Space Maintainer?
Answer: A band is used with the Distal Shoe to allow for easy replacement with another type of space maintainer after the permanent first molar erupts.
Question: What are Distal Shoe Space Maintainers used for?
Answer: Distal Shoe Space Maintainers are used to maintain space when a primary second molar is lost prematurely, preventing the drift of the unerupted permanent first molar.
Question: Are Band and Loop Space Maintainers suitable for multiple missing teeth spaces?
Answer: No, they are primarily designed to maintain a single missing tooth space and may not be recommended for situations involving two or more successive missing teeth spaces.
Question: How do Band and Loop Space Maintainers work?
Answer: Band and Loop Space Maintainers involve placing a stainless steel band temporarily around a permanent molar with a stainless steel wire that extends to the second primary molar, leaving space for the second premolar to erupt in its proper position.
Question: What types of space maintainer wires can be used with these bands?
Answer: You can use various space maintainer wires with these bands, including Straight Loops, Curved Loops, Distal Shoe, and Band and Loop Space Maintainers.
Question: What are Kids-e-Dental Bands with Tube Attached Refills used for?
Answer: Kids-e-Dental Bands with Tube Attached Refills are used in pediatric dentistry as part of space maintainer systems to prevent the premature loss of space when primary teeth are lost.
