Preparation:

• Ensure the patient's oral cavity is clean and dry before beginning the procedure.
• Select the appropriate gauge of ligature wire (0.009 inches, 0.22 mm) based on the clinical
  requirements.

Cutting the Wire:

• Measure and cut the desired length of ligature wire from the 125-gram roll using a clean, sharp orthodontic wire cutter.

Ligature Placement:

• Hold the cut wire with orthodontic ligature pliers.
• Carefully wrap the wire around the bracket slot, ensuring it securely holds the archwire in place.
• Twist the ends of the wire to tighten it, applying sufficient tension to keep the archwire stable without causing excessive pressure on the brackets or teeth.

Securing the Ligature:

• Trim any excess wire close to the twisted knot, ensuring there are no sharp edges that could irritate the patient's gums or cheeks.
• Use a ligature tucker or a similar tool to tuck the twisted end of the wire neatly against the bracket to minimize irritation.

Final Check:
