Direction to use

Preparation:

  • Ensure the patient's teeth are thoroughly cleaned and dry before starting the bracket bonding process.
  • Use a cheek retractor to maintain a dry working environment and improve visibility.

Bracket Placement:

  • Select the appropriate bracket size for each tooth.
  • Apply a thin layer of orthodontic adhesive to the base of the bracket.
  • Position the bracket on the tooth surface, ensuring proper alignment according to the treatment plan.
  • Apply gentle pressure to the bracket to ensure good adhesion.
  • Repeat for all teeth that require brackets.

Initial Wire Insertion:

  • Choose an appropriate initial archwire for the patient's treatment stage.
  • Insert the archwire into the slots of the brackets, starting with the anterior teeth and working towards the posterior teeth.
  • Ensure the wire is fully seated in each bracket slot.

Ligature Activation:

  • For SLI interactive anterior brackets, ensure the ligating mechanism is properly engaged to hold the wire securely in place.
  • For SLP passive posterior brackets, check that the wire is freely moving within the slots to allow for initial leveling and alignment.

Adjustment and Monitoring:

  • Schedule regular follow-up appointments to monitor the patient's progress and make necessary adjustments.
  • During adjustments, check the wire engagement in the anterior brackets and ensure the posterior wire movement remains optimal.
  • Adjust the archwire as needed to continue guiding teeth into their correct positions.

Final Phases:

  • As treatment progresses, switch to more rigid archwires to enhance torque and rotation control.
  • Monitor the alignment and make fine-tuning adjustments to ensure precise finishing and optimal occlusion.

Completion:

  • Once the desired alignment and bite are achieved, remove the brackets using appropriate orthodontic tools.
  • Polish the teeth to remove any residual adhesive.
  • Provide the patient with a retainer to maintain the new tooth positions and prevent relapse.

Patient Instructions:

  • Instruct the patient on maintaining good oral hygiene, including regular brushing and flossing.
  • Advise on dietary restrictions to avoid damaging the brackets or wires.
  • Emphasize the importance of attending all scheduled follow-up appointments for optimal treatment results.
