Select the Appropriate Size: 

• Measure the distance from the center of one loop to the center of the opposite loop on the inner bow. Choose the correct facebow size based on these measurements for an accurate fit.

Prepare the Patient: 

• Seat the patient comfortably in an upright position. Explain the purpose of the facebow and the steps of the procedure to ensure the patient understands and feels at ease.

Insert the Inner Bow: 

• Gently place the inner bow into the maxillary molar tubes, ensuring it is fully seated and properly aligned with the patient’s occlusal plane.

Attach the Outer Bow: 

• Align the outer bow with the inner bow, making sure the offset ends are positioned to avoid the patient’s cheek area. Securely connect the outer bow to the inner bow.

Connect the Safety Release Module

• Hook the offset ends of the outer bow to the safety release module, ensuring that it is firmly attached and functioning correctly.

Verify Comfort and Alignment

• Check that there is no tissue irritation from the smooth step-down areas and adjust if necessary for patient comfort. Confirm that the facebow is correctly aligned to transfer the occlusal plane and condylar rotational axis to the articulator.

Provide Patient Instructions

• Explain how to wear and remove the facebow if it will be used outside the clinic. Provide instructions on daily care and maintenance of the facebow.

Monitor During Treatment

• Regularly check the fit and condition of the facebow during follow-up appointments. Make adjustments as needed to ensure continued accuracy and comfort.

Remove the Facebow

• Unhook the outer bow from the safety release module and gently remove the inner bow from the maxillary molar tubes.
