Direction to use

Prepare the Workspace:

  • Ensure that the dental chair, instruments, and equipment are clean and ready for the procedure.
  • Set up the dental handpiece with the appropriate prophy cup or brush attachment.

Prepare the Patient:

  • Position the patient comfortably in the dental chair and provide appropriate protection, such as a bib or napkin, to prevent clothing from getting soiled.

Select the Right Paste:

  • Choose the Proxyt paste with the appropriate abrasive grade (fine, medium, or coarse) based on the patient's dental needs and your professional judgment.

Apply Paste to the Prophy Cup or Brush:

  • Dispense a small amount of Proxyt paste onto the prophy cup or brush attachment on the dental handpiece. The amount used may vary depending on the specific area you are working on.

Polish Teeth:

  • Start the dental handpiece and gently polish the patient's teeth using the paste. Use a slow and controlled motion, ensuring that the paste comes into contact with all tooth surfaces.
  • Focus on areas with stains, plaque, or calculus buildup. Maintain even pressure to avoid damaging the tooth enamel.

Rinse and Suction:

  • Periodically rinse the patient's mouth with water and use a suction device to remove excess paste, debris, and saliva.
  • Continue to inspect the teeth to gauge the progress and ensure that you are achieving the desired level of cleanliness and polish.

Evaluate and Repeat:

Examine the patient's teeth to ensure that they meet the desired level of cleanliness and shine. If necessary, repeat the procedure in areas that require additional attention.

Complete the Procedure:

  • Once the cleaning and polishing are satisfactory, turn off the dental handpiece and thoroughly rinse the patient's mouth to remove any remaining paste.

Post-Procedure Care and Instructions:

  • Provide the patient with post-procedure care instructions, including guidance on oral hygiene practices, dietary recommendations, and any follow-up appointments if needed.
