- Do not touch the needle tip after attaching it to maintain sterility.
Filling the Syringe
- Draw air into the syringe by pulling the plunger back to match the amount of medication or fluid needed.
- Insert the needle into the vial or ampule (if using a needle) and push the air into the container to equalize pressure.
- Slowly pull back on the plunger to draw the liquid into the syringe, ensuring it reaches the correct dosage mark on the barrel.
- Remove any air bubbles by gently tapping the syringe and pushing the plunger slightly to release them.
Administering or Transferring the Solution
- Use the syringe according to the required procedure (e.g., injection, transfer, or other application).
- Follow the correct protocols if using the syringe for an injection, including proper angle, depth, and site.
After Use
- Dispose of the syringe and needle immediately after use in a sharps container.
