-
The Contec root post system features HT glass fiber, enhancing stability and durability of dental restorations.
-
Glass fiber's elastic properties mimic dentine more closely than metals like Titanium or Zirconium, creating a biomechanically homogeneous unit with the tooth and composite, ensuring long-term stability.
-
The post includes cylindrical and conical parts, with rounded retentions in the head-section for secure bonding and anti-rotation. Spiral escape grooves in the apical section aid in decompression and retention.
-
Fibre-structured micro retentive surface eliminates the need for silanization, enhancing bonding efficiency and longevity of restorations.
-
The white and semi-translucent glass fiber posts provide an ideal foundation for esthetic restorations with fully ceramic crowns, ensuring natural appearance and patient satisfaction.

Insertion and Biting Position Check:
- Insert the Contec fiber post into the prepared root canal to test the fit and check the biting position.
- Mark the required post height (occlusion height) on the post.
Post Shortening:
- Remove the post from the root canal.
- Shorten the post extraorally using a fine diamond wheel. Use sharp instruments to avoid creating dust and moisten the post during cutting.
Cleaning and Preparation:
- Clean the Contec fiber post with alcohol to remove any contaminants.
- Dry the post thoroughly using warm air.
Preparing the Root Canal:
- Condition the dentin using an adhesive technique:
Composite Application:
- Optionally, apply a thin layer of dual-polymerizing bonder without polymerizing it with light.
- Apply low-viscosity, dual-polymerizing, X-ray visible composite into the root canal using a lentulo spiral, following the manufacturer's instructions.
Post Insertion:
- Apply composite quickly to the Contec fiber post.
- Insert the post immediately and slowly into the root canal, turning it slightly to ensure even distribution of composite and secure placement.
- Hold the post in position until the composite hardens sufficiently to secure the post firmly.
Finishing:
- Distribute any excess composite evenly around the protruding post and cavity.
- Remove remaining excess composite carefully.
Curing:
- Use a polymerization lamp to cure the composite for approximately 40 seconds, following the instructions for use related to the composite material.
Final Restoration:
- Complete the final restoration quickly using a viscous core composite.
- Use a transparent plastic shell (frasaco) or matrix band if necessary to shape the restoration accurately.
