Ammdent GI Core Glass Ionomer Cement is a versatile dental material designed for effective restorative procedures. With its superior chemical adhesion to enamel and dentine, this radiopaque cement ensures durable and long-lasting dental restorations. It is ideal for a range of applications including the restoration of deciduous teeth, repair of V-shaped defects, enamel, and root erosions, filling cavities with carious lesions, and small fillings of Class III and Class I. The liquid component features a secure lock against the pipette and should be shaken well before use. Mixing the powder and liquid components is simple, with a recommended ratio of 4.7-5.6g of powder to 1g of liquid. The cement sets within 5-6 minutes post-application and can be contoured and polished for optimal results. Precautions include using pulp protection and maintaining dry working conditions. Mix for 30-40 seconds, ensuring complete incorporation without exceeding 1 minute.
  • Application: Apply the mixed cement immediately to the prepared tooth surface using appropriate instruments. Ensure that Class V cavities are at least 1mm deep for effective application. Protect the working area from humidity, breath, and saliva during application. Use a protective varnish if possible.
  • Setting Time: Allow the cement to set for 5-6 minutes after application, depending on the mixing temperature and ratio. Do not disturb the applied cement during this setting period.
  • Contouring and Polishing: After the setting time, excess cement can be removed with a sharp instrument. Contour and shape the restoration as needed using flexible disks. Cover the restored area with varnish for protection. For optimal results, final polishing can be performed approximately 24 hours after insertion.
  • Precautions: Use pulp protection for areas closer than 1-1.5mm to the pulp to avoid irritations. Thoroughly close the powder and liquid containers after use to prevent humidity exposure. Avoid contact with mucosa and eyes during application. Do not use if sensitivities to the ingredients are present or if the product has expired.
