Preparation:

• Patient Assessment: Confirm the patient is suitable for implant placement and healing abutment application by reviewing their medical history and performing necessary imaging
• Sterilization: Ensure all instruments and the healing abutment are properly sterilized before use

Placement:

• Implant Exposure: If the implant is already placed, carefully retract the soft tissue to expose the implant site. If submerged, make a small incision to access it
• Select the Abutment: Choose the appropriate height of the healing abutment based on clinical needs and implant depth
• Attach the Abutment: Gently screw the healing abutment onto the implant using a torque wrench or handpiece, ensuring a secure fit without over-tightening
• Tissue Management: Position surrounding soft tissue around the abutment to achieve a natural contour for optimal aesthetics

Post-Placement Care:

• Suture if Necessary: If tissue was incised, consider suturing it back in place around the healing abutment for proper closure
• Post-Operative Instructions: Provide the patient with care instructions, including oral hygiene practices and dietary restrictions
