  • Tooth Preparation: Reduce the tooth structure to create space for the crown. Ensure the occlusal reduction is appropriate to avoid high points.

Crown Selection:

  • Choose the Right Size: Select a crown that fits the tooth appropriately. The crown should cover the entire prepared tooth without causing gingival irritation.
  • Try-In: Place the selected crown on the prepared tooth to check for fit and marginal adaptation. Adjust the size if necessary.

Crown Adjustment:

  • Trimming: If the crown is too long, use crown and bridge scissors to trim it to the appropriate length.
  • Contouring: Use contouring pliers to shape the crown for a better fit.
  • Crimping: Use crimping pliers to tighten the edges of the crown for a secure fit around the tooth.

Cementation:

  • Cement Selection: Choose a suitable dental cement for permanent placement.
  • Application: Apply the cement to the inside of the crown.

  • Excess Cement Removal: Remove any excess cement from around the crown margins using a dental explorer.

Final Adjustments:

  • Check Occlusion: Verify that the crown does not interfere with the patient's bite. Adjust the occlusion if necessary.
  • Finishing: Smooth any rough edges using finishing burs.

Post-Operative Instructions:

  • Patient Education: Advise the patient on proper oral hygiene practices and care for the crown.
