• Prepare the post space using specific drills
• Trial fit the Fiber posts and determine the desired length.
• After etching and rinsing the canal and super-structure, place the adhesive on the tooth.
• Place the dual cure resin cement and core build-up material.
• Final preparations. Note that the posts has to be placed over the centric cusps.

Question: When are post and core needed?
Answer: The indications for a post and core restoration are done when tooth with extensive crown loss, crown susceptible to cervical area fracture, grossly discolored tooth, loss of two proximal surfaces, a shortened tooth with insufficient retention form with the favorable periodontal and periapical condition.

Question: Which cement is preferred to use with Coltene Tenax fibre posts?
Answer: Self-adhesive resin cement presents better bond strength when compared to other conventional luting cement.

Question: When do you use fiber posts?
Answer: Although they do not have the rigidity of a metal post, fiber posts are indicated for: cases where a metal post would jeopardize the esthetic result; at-risk patients who have a past history of trauma to the orofacial region and the placement of a metal post would put an endodontically treated tooth at risk of root fracture; teeth with sufficient remaining coronal structure so that a 1.5-mm to 2-mm ferrule can be developed in the crown preparation.
